Honoring Mother Earth2021 Earthday Fair is planned for April 17th
Proudly celebrating in Chelan since 1989
A message from the 2020 Chelan Earth Day Fair committee
I am sure we are all painfully aware of the changing situation we currently find ourselves in.
You may have heard that our governor Jay Inslee’s restrictions put in place for King, Snohomish and Pierce counties have been expanded across Washington state. At a press conference yesterday the governor announced that all schools in Washington will be closed from Tuesday, March 17th to Friday, April 24th. In addition there are more restrictions; events with more than 250 attendees will be prohibited statewide. That order applies to gatherings for social, spiritual and recreational activities, including, but not limited to, community, civic, public, leisure, faith-based or sporting events; parades, concerts, FESTIVALS, conventions, fundraisers and similar activities.
The health and safety of our visitors, vendors, educators, entertainers, volunteers, and our community is our top priority, so at this time we then must cancel the 2020 Chelan Earth Day Fair. It is the first time in the event’s 31-year history that it would be canceled.
We know that many of you look forward to this fair all year and the disruption of canceling might be difficult and frustrating. We are an all-volunteer group of dedicated folks that work hard each year to make the fair happen, we do feel it too. However we do believe It is important to help the state and our country in its plans to “flatten the curve” of the epidemic to help save lives.
